of Mental Health Care.
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
More than 1 billion people worldwide live with a mental disorder. At the same time, people with mental health conditions remain severely underserved, and the economic consequences are enormous — with productivity losses and other indirect costs to society far exceeding direct health care costs. These figures, highlighted in the 2025 WHO report World mental health today: latest data, underline the urgent need for scalable, evidence-based, and human-centred innovation in mental health care.
Against this background, we are pleased to announce the second edition of MindXR – Shaping the Future of Mental Health Care, which will take place from June 30 to July 2, 2027, in the centre of Berlin.
XR technology is rapidly evolving as a powerful approach for improving the treatment of mental disorders, but the underlying neural and cognitive/emotional mechanisms remain to be fully elucidated. In addition, developing the next generation of XR assessment and intervention tools requires interdisciplinary collaboration between fundamental and clinical science. To address these pressing issues, we have created a novel, high-profile meeting with an exclusive focus on mental health. The meeting will bring together leading scientists working on Fundamental XR Research, Clinical XR Research and Human Computer Interaction.
